Nikki Telegan (b.1991) is an embodied, interdisciplinary performance artist from California currently based in Chicago. With a background in movement-based practices, they are primarily focused on questions of the abject body, spectacle, and liveness. A self-identified wet and messy artist/fetishist, they are drawn to employing various fluids as a method of externalizing their internals, inviting viewers to feel within their bodies and question existence, time, and reality.
They hold a MFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Their work has been exhibited in spaces such as the LookOut Series at Steppenwolf Theater (Chicago, IL), INVERSE Performance Art Festival at the Momentary (Bentonville, AR), the Spring Exhibition at Harold J. Miossi Art Gallery (San Luis Obispo, CA), and the In/Form Festival at Links Hall (Chicago, IL), among others. They have received awards such as the Frank A. "Tony" Sprague Award from Cuesta College, the Graduate Dean Professional Development Award and the Student Leadership Award from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
